Who We Are:

Power of Putnam is a coalition that brings together community members concerned about the issue of substance misuse to work together in the development of strategies and in finding ways of implementing those strategies into the community.

Our Mission

Our mission is to partner with the diverse elements of Putnam County in a united substance misuse prevention effort designed to empower individuals, strengthen families, and build character and resiliency resulting in drug-free children and youth.

Our Community

Putnam County, Tennessee is the hub of the Upper Cumberland region. Cookeville and the smaller towns of Baxter, Monterey, and Algood are home to over 80,000 individuals.

Power of Putnam is a coalition of community leaders who work to develop and implement environmental strategies to prevent the progression of susbtance misuse and reduce the harm caused by substances by limiting access and changing the social norms. A comprehensive needs assessment reveals that underage alcohol and tobacco use and prescription drug misuse among individuals of all ages are the most prevalent issues facing Putnam County.
